131st Recording Competition Judge: Staff Sergeant Brandie Lane

From 2006 to 2010, Brandie served as head audio engineer at GRAMMY nominated Sono Luminus, a classical label boasting a catalog of over 100 artists and 400 titles.  A graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL, Brandie received a Bachelor of Science in Music Engineering Technology with a minor in Electrical Engineering.  Brandie currently serves as an US Army staff sergeant and audio engineer with the United States Military Academy Band, located in West Point, NY.  Her main duties include recording and live sound reinforcement for the Concert Band, Jazz Knights, Benny Havens Band, and many chamber ensembles.

Her accolades include a 2010 GRAMMY Award for “Best Engineered Album, Classical”, engineering credits on 2010 and 2008 GRAMMY nominated albums, a 2005 Downbeat Award for “Best Engineering for a Live Recording” and an “Award of Excellence” from the 2007 Audio Engineering Society High Resolution Recording Competition.

Her professional affiliations include membership with the Audio Engineering Society and Microphones and Applications Technical Committee.  She is also a voting member ofThe Recording Academy (Producers and Engineers Wing).
