Simon Calle is a spatial audio researcher and developer for THX. He focuses on the creation and testing of new technology to enhance the 3D audio experience across different platforms like games, mobile and headphones. Before joining THX, he worked at Explode Studio in Brooklyn as an audio engineer and he was also part of the Immersive Audio Group of Music Technology at New York University, led by Dr. Agnieszka Roginska. Currently, the main research area for Simon and the THX Spatial Audio R&D group is the personalization of HRTFs, their applicability in real-world scenarios, and the implementation of spatial audio formats like MPEG-H in gaming, broadcasting and other areas of consumer audio.
