136th Convention Wrap-UpDuring the 136th Convention, held recently in Berlin, AES continued to forge new territory with its successful tracks and programs. Making its European debut was the heavily-attended Project Studio Expo, sponsored by DPA Microphones, as well as an expanded Sound for Picture track. Additional technical program events, manufacturer exhibitions, tech tours and more rounded out the Convention. Papers from the 136th are now available in the E-Library. To date, the Program has awarded over $6 million to more than 300 noteworthy projects. The Grant Program provides funding annually to organizations and individuals in the Americas to support efforts that advance the archiving and preservation of the recorded sound heritage of the Americas for future generations, as well as research projects related to the impact of music on the human condition. A letter of inquiry is required before submission of a full application. The deadline each year for submitting letters of inquiry is Oct. 1.
