To expand our Multimedia Application Department team in Erlangen, Germany, we have an immediate opening for a Software Engineer (f/m) Digital broadcast applications and streaming
Are you interested in multimedia applications and in implementing them in the market for terrestrial and hybrid broadcast systems? Do you have a passion for developing algorithms and software?
In that case, this is the right position for you!
You will be responsible for designing, creating and implementing algorithms and programs for multimedia applications for various operating systems. You will also develop software and take care of adapting, enhancing and configuring the Linux operating system for the content server platform for various broadcast systems.
Other responsibilities include developing, implementing and testing protocols and applications and verifying your work on prototypes, end-user devices and data servers.

The research team for audio and media technologies has been working on audio and image coding as well as on multimedia technologies for more than 25 years, and made a name for itself due to its significant contribution to the development of mp3 and AAC.

What we expect from you

- University degree in the field of Engineering or Natural Sciences
- Solid C/C++ programming skills and knowledge
- Basic knowledge of Java and/or Perl
- Good oral and written communication skills in both German and English
- Linux programming experience in the area of smartphones, digital broadcasting, streaming and embedded systems/DSPs is a plus
We are also happy to welcome applications of committed young professionals with prior knowledge and first practical experience from internships, student research projects or final theses.
