QSC seeks and experienced and self-motivated Sr DSP Engineer to work with cross-functional teams to develop leading edge audio algorithms for a wide variety of amplifiers, mixing consoles, powered loudspeakers, and other devices. The Sr DSP Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing algorithms on target HW ranging from low-cost general-purpose microcontrollers to dedicated DSP ICs to large, general purpose Intel CPUs. In addition, the Sr DSP Engineer will help drive system architecture and component selection, model and simulate algorithms, validate algorithm and product performance, and ensure that products meet all schedule and performance requirements.
Responsible for DSP, algorithm development, analysis and software implementation for QSC loudspeakers, amplifiers and digital systems.
Lead and drive development, modeling and analysis of loudspeaker protection and amplifier limiter subsystems.
Develop solutions in the areas of real-time operating systems, network communications, mixed signal design and embedded product design.
Work collaboratively with other members of a tight-knit, small project team to develop world-class professional audio products.
Work with Software Quality Assurance to develop appropriate test strategies.
BS or MS (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field from an accredited university. Focus in audio digital signal processing.
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in digital audio signal processing, DSP algorithm development, and real-time signal processing.
Proficiency with MATLAB, Mathcad, Max/MSP, and Simulink.
Demonstrated experience with embedded software development on low-cost microcontroller HW ICs.
Familiarity with dedicated DSP ICs from Analog Devices, Texas Instruments, and others.
Experience with embedded Linux and/or other real time operating systems.
Strong coding skills in C/C++.
Experience with assembly-level programming.
Experience with bringing up and troubleshooting real-time hardware systems and prototypes.
Knowledge of DSP-controlled loudspeaker systems.
Experience developing digital audio products and systems that meet aggressive performance and reliability requirements.
Outstanding problem solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
