We are currently looking to recruit an Automotive Development Engineer to support the engineering activities required to maintain Bowers & Wilkins’ leading position within automotive audio. This is a challenging role which involves liaising with industrial partners and in-house teams on the design of new automotive transducers; as well as working with the design engineers on the integration of supporting structures to ensure consistent acoustic performance.
The Automotive Development Engineer will be based in Steyning, West Sussex and will work alongside the prototyping team to create transducer prototypes, trim and structural prototypes and integrate these components into demonstration vehicles. Additionally, this role will require you to engage in system tuning/fault finding and correction to ensure the Quality Control of production vehicles is met to the highest of standards.
• Research and innovation of new technologies relevant to automotive audio
• Benchmarking of competitor vehicles
• Project management
• Maintaining an overview of Bowers & Wilkins domestic audio technologies with a view to align with the automotive roadmap
• Support development in other product categories when appropriate.
It is essential that you have a degree in mechanical/electronic/acoustic engineering, physics or associated disciplines, with knowledge and experience in FEA and 3D CAD systems. You will need to have experience in the use of basic workshop equipment and be willing to drive on business travel when required.
