CEDAR Audio supplies noise suppression and speech enhancement systems to national and regional police forces, security services, counter-terrorism organisations, customs services, drug enforcement agencies and accident investigation bureaux. Established in 1988 following three years of research within the Signal Processing Laboratory at Cambridge University, CEDAR is still based in the city and includes two Cambridge University professors and a Director of Studies among its Directors. The company is committed to furthering the science and technology of noise suppression and speech enhancement in all of their forms and actively pursues research in those fields. CEDAR systems have been used on many high profile cases over the years, and are installed in some of the best known (and some of the least known) forces and agencies in the world.

Oxford Wave Research
Oxford Wave Research (OWR) is a specialised audio R&D company with expertise in voice biometrics, speaker diarisation, audio fingerprinting and audio enhancement. Our R&D team have contributed to major government projects, nationally and internationally. We have been particularly successful in bringing practical applications of state-of-the-art academic research algorithms to usable commercial products for law enforcement, military and other agencies. Our specialised software solutions have been developed in direct response to specific law-enforcement requirements, using real-life data and in close conjunction with end-users. OWR was competitively selected by the UK Home Office to develop MADCAT audio and video fingerprinting software, into a centralised system called 'WHISKERS' for the detection of illegal video material. Most recently, our well established forensic voice comparison system, called VOCALISE, used in forensic audio labs across the world, has been expanded to create 'WHISPERS' which is a powerful networked 'one to many' voice comparison system.
