Director of Sales and Channel Marketing

Apogee Electronics, an award-winning designer and manufacturer of professional digital audio equipment, is seeking an experienced and proven leader to run its sales and channel marketing departments. Working out of our sunny Santa Monica, CA office, this position has a direct impact on our brand and the quality of the products we are known for. Products like Symphony I/O, Quartet, Duet, ONE, JAM and MiC have powered many of the world’s most respected studios and have been instrumental in capturing countless GRAMMY® and OSCAR® winning performances by today’s biggest artists.
Reporting to the CEO. We are looking for a sales, marketing and brand leader with music/consumer and pro-audio experience. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic and tactical sales, marketing and brand plans across all channels of distribution. This hands-on position is accountable for all aspects of our world wide business including driving profitable revenue growth, develop a sales team and liaise with stakeholder such as Creative, Artist Relations, Operations, Finance and Distributors to execute sales plans.
Grow our world wide business by creating and implementing strategies to meet our financial objectives
Lead new business development plans with new partners and new categories to increase our revenue streams
Develop sales “go to market strategies” that drive profitable revenue across all channels of distribution
Present and coordinate with Creative and Artist Relation on sales opportunities including design and channel approvals
Develop marketing programs with senior executives
Manage the team’s objectives to create and implement the company’s overall retail strategy
Oversee pricing, margins, customer tiers, sales finance, planning, analysis, budget and reporting
Manage and liaise with key accounts and relationships, develop and oversee implementation plans to ensure successful sell in and sell through
Partner with corporate development to define marketplace potential and build investment, acquisition and/or new business development plans to deliver incremental revenue
Innovate, drive best practice and create the blue print for the expanded future function that supports the company’s broader goals of growth and high standards of customer experience
Establish sales territories and quotas
Manage budgets and evaluate sales performance
Supervise regional sales managers to ensure that they are leading and mentoring their teams successfully
Serve as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expositions
Minimum 15+ years total experience in sales, branding with a marketing background in the music / professional / consumer audio industry
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field
Strong customer-focused experience
Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment collaborating with internal and external partners
Ability to work in an agile and fast paced environment
Strong business and financial acumen especially margins, cost, service and cash management
