Summary

Over the span of two days, September 16th & 17th, American River Regional AES (advised by Eric Chun) made its presence at the 2011 Content Creation & Distribution Expo. Accompanied by professional chapter representatives Weston Ray and Darin Stull of Weston House Recordings, the Audio Engineering Society successfully informed the thousands of attendees fascinated by the fun-filled event of what AES is all about!

Set in the active environment supplied by Loomis' Blue Goose Produce, AES shared a convention platform sponsored by Sherman & Clay, Steinway Pianos, and Music Connection Magazine. Attracting the attention of Mayor Kevin Johnson as well, the AES booth was approached by representatives from his office for a short interview of the field and networking opportunities we promote.

Of the many events in the Blue Goose East Building, perhaps the most impressive highlight of the two-day event was an all-star panel coordinated by Eric Chun. The panel consisted of studio owners, engineers, songwriters, and professionals from throughout the state of California. Several panelists included Larry Batiste, Claytoven , and Mach 1 A&Rs Baby J and Ms. Brown- both under the direct tutelage of Grammy Panelist Eddie Galan.

Outside of the Blue Goose, the Train Depot Area and its surrounding lot filled with attendees with high expectations; CCD Expo did not disappoint. The Train Depot allowed for an all-day schedule of seminars, panels, and networking opportunities with those active in the music industry and those wishing to make it a career. The surrounding lot to the Depot, draped with the fresh scent of shaved ice flavoring and oven-broiled pizza, attracted the masses with exhibits of vendors offering new and exciting audio and video technology. Several specialty schools offering education in audio, video, and graphic design resided in the lot as well.

The main stage set the atmosphere. Further into the venue, the main stage popped with performances all weekend from artists ranging from Garratt Wilkin and The Parrot Heads, to Foz Rock, to the 70s pop/rock band Pablo Cruise. Supplying entertainment, opportunity, and a chance to learn about the industry of entertainment- all in all, this was not an event to miss!
