Summary

On Friday, November 11, the AES-TAMABA Student Section met with the Argentinian specialist in acoustics, Andrea Farina, to ask various questions about acoustic parameters, methods for calculating reverberation time, and the guidelines to follow for response recording. of impulse. .

Throughout two hours, the students raised their doubts and questions about the "why, what for and how" of the different impulse response production techniques. During the talk, the "why" of making these measurements was especially discussed. Different alternatives such as sweeping, detonations by balloons and firecrackers and interrupted noise were analyzed.

This first meeting is the first step we took in this new investigation that we are going to start. The next meeting will surely be face-to-face with Andrea Farina and Indio Gauvron to carry out measurement practices.

Our idea is that starting in March of next year, the impulse response registration project of the most important concert halls of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and also of churches and chapels will be resumed.
