Summary

On Friday, October 14, starting at 8:00 p.m., we had a special meeting with members of the AES-TAMABA Student Section and Indio Gauvron to talk about surround sound systems as a result of the research carried out by students Ariadna Trotta, Emanuel Zanoni and Nahuel Orellana referred to the recording, mixing and reproduction of immersive audio systems.

To deepen the knowledge in this field, Indio Gauvron offered to teach a class called "Historical evolution of surround sound (Surround)" which served as a trigger for a series of questions related to the subject.

Over 80 minutes, topics related to the origins of surround sound were reviewed, from the year 1500 in the Basilica of San Marco (Venice) to the present day with a description of the Dolby Atmos surround sound system.

To close the activity we had the visit of the President of the Professional Section of AES Argentina, Fernando Bacigalupo, who greeted those present and invited them to participate in the AES ARG activity at the next CAPER 2022 fair (to be held in the Autonomous City City of Buenos Aires in November) and in which different surround sound systems will be installed, such as immersive and 5.1.
