Last Monday May 23rd at Buenos Aires/20hs Oslo, a gathering happened between Norway AES Professional Section and AURAL Escuela AES Student Section (representing Argentina). The context was the AES Networking Lounge kick-off event. The Networking Lounge is space inside the AES who wants to establish a forum where members can do informal approach for presenting the audio world of the sections focused on specifics, dual-section presentations, creating perhaps new ways and rules of how to make "social" contact between any and all AES members.
On this special meeting, Geir Kristoffersen presented the landscape of audio in Norway, and Josefina Martino, Diego Flores and Leandro Rodriguez do the same for Argentina. The challenges, business and educational institutions were mentioned, highlighting what is unique for the respective countries, and also what are the similarities with the broader range of the audio business, considering professional audio content creators, students and educational facilities, research, and development as well as equipment manufacturers. On this context, different cultures, history and approaches of how each audio industry goes were the main topics, and a final Q&A roundup emerged with members from all over the world.
