Interested engineers, musicians, and professors gathered to see what IU's new Georgina Joshi Recording Studio can do! This event was a collaboration between IU's Project Jumpstart organization, the IU AES chapter, the JSOM Media Club, and the Department of Audio Engineering and Sound Production. Konrad Strauss, the department chair, talked through the various technologies in the studio, and the opportunities student musicians have to book the studio for audition tapes, demo recordings, and other nonprofit recording needs. The event also featured performances live from the recording studio, with audio and video provided by IU's audio engineering students. In the end, everyone was excited about the new space, and eager to try it out for themselves! More info may be found in the November 2017 issue of Mix Magazine!
