Summary

Gianfranco Hildago, Benjamaar Hubbard, and Ben Sabin came back to CRAS to answer some questions students had for CRAS graduates out in the industry. All of the alumni spoke in depth about the struggles they had to go through to get to where they are today in the industry. Both Mr. Hildago and Mr. Hubbard mentioned sharing a house with over a dozen other people just to get by while they were trying to get their feet on the ground. The students all laughed and listened in as they told stories of nodding off due to little or no sleep and how the hustle is the only way to make it in the industry.
All of the graduates emphasised how deeply you have to want to succeed in any part of the industry you go to. Mr. Hubbard recalled showing up for an interview in a suit and being told afterwards that he would not have gotten the job had he not worn the suit. Mr. Sabin recalled sleeping in the studio for thirty minutes before having to wake up for the next day and set up everything for a session, most of which went unused. Mr. Hildago emphasized networking as a necessary in getting into the industry as this is how people will remember you when they are asked for a reference. The students asked and took in as much as they could from these incredible CRAS alumni, as there was much to learn from all three of them.
