Other business or activities at the meeting:The future working fields of Audio Engineering Students from Graz are numerous and diverse. To give our students a better overview of typical jobs and and the opportunity to connect with people from business and research, we organised the job opportunity meeting.
We were very happy to hear four inspiring talks by almuni from different fields talking about their careers and giving advice to students about how to approach theirs.
Our guests were:
Piotr Majdak, deputy director for Psychoacoustics and Experimental Audiology at the Austrian Academy of sciences, who talked about scientific research and his personal way into it.
Ralf Baumgartner, founder and CEO from sonible, who talked about founding his own company and developing products.
Thomas Gmeiner, managing director from knowles, who showed us his way threw different positions in several big companies in the field of audio.
Felix Pfahler from Usound, who finished his studies just a year ago and could talk about his job in a very young company in the field of micro speaker technology.
Because of the very different careers the students became a very broad picture of the opportunities they will have when they finish their studies.
We coordinated the date of this event with the students council, so that it took place on the same day as their summer party. In this way the students had the opportunity to talk to the guests in a relaxed atmosphere after the presentations.
We received very positive feedback on the event and will be glad to organise it again next year :)
