This was our student chapter's first AES meeting! As students walked in, they signed into a sign-in-sheet. At this meeting, (after the pizza was served) the new student chapter's officers introduced ourselves. We discussed the future of the club for the remainder of the school year and some of the ideas that we had come up with in the officer meetings.
We also presented our first two official events that are scheduled for later in the same week: TC Furlong Digital Console Expo (Tuesday, December 8th), and Threshold Acoustics Guest Speaker- Bradley Fritz (Friday, December 11th).
We then began the question and answer portion of the meeting. We asked the attendees what they wanted to see from Tribeca Flashpoint's AES student chapter for the rest of 2016. We also asked them if they had any interests in specific people or events that they would like to see or attend with their AES chapter. We got many suggestions from students. Most students said they would love to see a workshop by John Hardy, a tour of the Shure factory, and other local studios or engineers.
We wanted to start off the year with a simple meeting to get other students excited about joining AES this year!
