The Los Angeles Section of the AES was joined by a a team from Avid Technology, to go over the Avid Everywhere initiative, and Avid's vision for the future of content creation. They covered such topics as: Pro Tools 12 licensing and improvements; the Avid Artist Community, Marketplace and App Store; coming Avid Cloud Collaboration functionality; Dolby Atmos workflows; Pro Tools | S6 and S3 control surfaces; and a new iOS Control App. After going over the features of Pro Tools 12 and ancillary technology offerings, the Avid team fielded audience questions, covering topics such as immersive sound mixing support, Avid hardware requirement and education pricing. The evening ended with a hands-on demonstration of the Pro Tools | S6 and S3 control surfaces.
