What Does a Perfect Microphone Look Like, Sound Like

Mr. Blackmer's goal in this talk is to define an ideal microphone. It focused on David Blackmer's work leading to Earthworks microphones in the context of his model of human hearing. He discussed impulse response vs frequency response and issues of phase and coloration. He discussed how humans hear and what it takes for a microphone to match the capabilities of human hearing.

About Eric Blackmer

You might say Audio is in Eric's genes. He has a long history in musical instruments and professional audio sales as well as substantial experience building, outfitting, integrating and wiring recording studios. He was Director of Sales and Marketing at Earthworks from 1995 until 2003, and is once again at Earthworks helping to carry on the family legacy. Microphones are something of a specialty and most certainly a love of his.
