Anatomy of a mix presentation. Richard Chycki broke down one of his mixes for rock band, Dream Theater. He explained how he approaches the mixing and recording process. Richard gave a detailed explanation of the microphone set-up he used, how he allocated channels and some of his favourite techniques for using plugins and effects.
Throughout the presentation Richard answered questions from the audience primarily concerning the plugins and other equipment he uses.
About the presenter: Richard Chycki is an internationally renowned producer, engineer, mixer and SSL fan. Currently his studio features two SSL Sigma remote controlled summing mixers. He is one of the music industry's most sought after talents, and has 60 Gold and Platinum albums to his credit including works from Rush, Dream Theatre, Pink, Aerosmith, Simple Plan, and Our Lady Peace.
