Summary

The AES Atlanta Section held it's 8th annual student workshop at Turner Studios. Several classes were taught throughout the day. Jim Anderson held a critical listening class in which students were presented different clips of audio for comparison. Ed Seay shared his years of experience in the field of mixing. Booker Edwards taught an introductory class on the use of Apple's Logic Pro and basic recording techniques. Finally Jeff Brugger, Bob Gillespie, Arno Baars, and Timothy Jones presented a class on different types of microphones as well as basic placement and recording techniques. At the conclusion of the event there was a panel discussion on careers in audio. The event was moderated by Ed Welly, Jay Yeary, and Tanya Ostrovsky of the AES Atlanta Section.
