Mark Martin has a M.S. in (Pure) Mathematics from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington. He has worked in diverse fields including medical physics, aerospace, biotech, and materials science. He is currently a Senior DSP Engineer at Audio Precision, an adjunct professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Portland State University, and is the VP of Programming for the Rose City Astronomers, which is a 1200+ member astronomy club in Portland, Oregon. He tries to be both practical and hands-on as well as pursuing pi in the sky ... but, who can resist pi(e)?
