Joel Augusto Luft was born in Brazil in 1969. He received the Electrical Engineering degree in 1991 and M.SC. Degrees in 1994 from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, Brasil. He is a Ph.D. student at the Electrical Engineering Department, UFRGS. He is a professor at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Sul – Campus Canoas. His interests include digital signal processing, speech and audio processing, source separation and spatial audio systems.
