Summary

On November 11, 2010, Carlo Libertini joined the University of Hartford AES Student Section for a demonstration of Celemony's highly acclaimed pitch- and time-smanipulation software. Carlo first demonstrated Melodyne Studio, Celemony's standalone DAW and sequencer. Misconceptions of the software were resolved as Carlo explained how Melodyne does more than simply snapping notes to a scale. Many students were intrigued by Melodyne's audio-to-midi capabilities and ability to alter vibrato and formant but were especially interested Melodyne Editor's new Direct Note Access feature, which allows the user to modify individual notes in a polyphonic stereo mixdown.
