Shure Incorporated - Technical Content Specialist

Be on a team that works on the cutting edge of product content! Apply your background in writing, HTML, graphics, animation, and other content related skills. The Technical Content Specialist participates on new product development teams in a hands-on role to define user assistance needs. Create, edit, and publish documentation for Shure products on the web and in print using the latest technologies. Combine organizational skills with product and customer research to provide concise, targeted documentation, while working in a collaborative team environment.

Participate as a new product development team member from inception to launch to define user assistance needs and to author materials for delivery of information to the end user.

Research customer needs and organize technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for technical and non-technical users.

Work independently and in collaboration with product specialists, project managers, engineers, and other cross-functional team members.

Conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to define instructional needs, reference materials, and compliance information for products.

Produce outlines, drafts, and final guide layouts describing application and use of Shure products.

Create original graphics and/or drawings, photos and figures to illustrate product use.

Schedule, receive and format multi-language translations of approved English text.

Perform quality assurance tasks and proofread with a high level of accuracy.

Participate in peer reviews to give and receive actionable feedback.

Provide input toward implementing goals and strategies of the department.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Engineering, Design, UX, Communication, or related field
Entry-level to 5 years of experience
Basic knowledge of writing user guides, desktop publishing, and current technical documentation trends.
Experience with desktop publishing or graphical editing software such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, or similar software.
Ability and desire to learn new technologies and keep current with emerging technologies.
Working knowledge of HTML, and CSS.
Exhibits good analytical and decision making skills.
Interest or experience with audio hardware/software technologies a plus.
