Belmont University is seeking an entrepreneurial and visionary leader to serve as the new dean for its Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business (CEMB), as the current dean, Dr. Wesley Bulla, has decided to return to a full-time teaching position. Located in the heart of Music City (Nashville, Tennessee), Belmont was ranked for 2014 at No. 7 in the Regional Universities South category by U.S. News & World Report, which also named Belmont for the sixth consecutive year as one of the “Top Up-and-Comer” universities in the country. Among the fastest growing Christian universities in the nation, Belmont seeks to attract an active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber skilled in the scholarship of teaching, discovery, application and integration of faith.

CEMB is widely recognized as a world leader in music business and entertainment industry education, offering three academic degrees in four areas of study: Music Business (B.B.A.), Audio Engineering Technology (B.A. or B.S.), Entertainment Industry Studies (B.A. or B.S.) and Songwriting (B.A. or B.S.). In addition, the college will add the University’s program in Motion Pictures (B.A.) to its portfolio in the near future. CEMB is the largest freestanding college of its kind accredited for both business (AACSB) and technology (ABET). Its mission is to create educational programs which will train the future leaders of the entertainment industry. More than 60 full- and part-time faculty and 18 affiliate staff serve nearly 2,000 students in CEMB programs.

This position is a full-time, 12-month, tenured faculty position reporting directly to the University Provost, and requires a degree in a discipline related to those offered in the College (terminal degree preferred). Candidates should demonstrate a significant record of ethical leadership in business and/or higher education as well as a record of professional and/or intellectual contributions to the entertainment or music industry.
