T5: Edison National Historic Site

From 1887 to 1931, Thomas Alva Edison generated over half of his 1093 US Patents here at this research laboratory. It was also here that constant improvements on the cylinder phonograph were made and the motion picture camera was invented. The collection includes 60,000 images, 35,000 sound recordings, more than 400,000 artifacts and 5 and one half million pages of lab notes, correspondences, patent work, court testimony and business records.
