Report of the meeting of the SC-05-05 Working Group on Grounding and EMC Practices of the SC-05 Subcommittee on Interconnections held in Berlin, Germany, 2004-05-07.

The meeting was convened by B. C. Olson.

The agenda and the report of the previous meeting in New York, 2004-10-09 was accepted as written.

Development Projects

AES-X13 Guidelines for Shielding
The current document will be forwarded to the Secretariat to progress the document to PCFC. Once the standard has been progressed this project will be retired.

AES-X27 Test Methods for Measuring Electromagnetic Interference
J. Brown will write a short summary and the chair will then prepare a draft for the working group to approve.

AES-X125 Input filtering for electromagnetic compatibility
No progress reported. A. Waldron urged to submit some of the techniques that his company has implemented in their current products.

AES-X35 Installation Wiring Practices
No progress reported. �This project is waiting for completion of other projects in SC-05-05.

There are no liaisons.

New Projects

A new project was proposed by the chair that would use the work from AES-X13 that is not included in the PCFC to generate a Standard defining the requirements for the termination of shields of cables for microphone level outputs. If the project is approved by SC-05, the scope and additional information will be posted to the list serve shortly after the convention.
