Jose Cadavid

Primary Affiliation: Le Mans Université - Le Mans, France

Jose Cadavid was born in Medellín, Colombia, in 1991. In 2014, he graduated as a Sound Engineer from the University of San Buenaventura Medellín. His thesis was the design and construction of an Acoustic Parametric Array for highly directive sound reproduction. After graduated, he worked in the same university as a professor of acoustic simulations and audio technology. He contributed also as a researcher in a project to characterize acoustic materials, measuring tortuosity with ultrasound. In 2015 he joins Ingeniería Acústica Aplicada as Acoustical Engineer, where he designed and implemented acoustic solutions for architectural acoustics, noise control and sound reinforcement.
In 2017 he starts the International Master's Degree in Electro-Acoustics at Le Mans Univeristy, in France. To complete his studies, he is currently an R&D Intern in electro-acoustics at SE-Audiotechnik, engaged with the simulation and optimization of line array systems. In addition to loudspeaker systems design and characterisation, he is deeply interested in directivity control, room acoustics and sound perception.
