Preliminary Loudness Guidelines for OTT Television and Video StreamingThe AES Technical Council has published preliminary loudness guidelines for OTT television and video streaming. The document, AES TD1005, is the result of the hard work of an expert writing group led by Jim Starzynski, under the aegis of the Technical Committee on Broadcast and Online Delivery, led by David Bialik, Matthieu Parmentier, and Kimio Hamasaki. The goal of the study group is to develop a comprehensive recommendation, providing effective guidelines for managing audio loudness of soundtracks of television and video content available to consumers Over-The-Top (OTT) and by Online Video Distributors (OVD). The goal of AES Technical Documents is not to state a policy or support for a technical method, device or principle, but to provide information that represents the collective knowledge of a group of experts.
