140th Convention Plans Innovative EventsAES 140th Convention Plan ahead now for the 140th Convention, 4-7 June, 2016 in Paris. In addition to showcasing the latest in audio technology and practice, with all the traditional, indispensable elements of an AES show, attendees in Paris will be able to participate in two innovative events. At the end of each afternoon there will be “Audio Projections“ a pure listening experience, with a series of surround, multichannel or 3D audio projections by some of the multichannel giants. On the show floor a Professional Sound Expo (PSE) will offer free training on topics such as 3D audio, broadcast, live sound, recording and monitoring. Chaired by Andres Mayo and Linda Gedemer, this conference on a topic of critical importance for the industry, will gather content providers, researchers, engineers and users to explore topics such as audio capture, mixing techniques, system implementation, equipment development, and best practices. The Call for Contributions is launched in this month's Journal, where you will find that the committee seeks papers as well as tutorials and workshops on aspects of the theme, from Object Based Audio Mixing for AR/VR Applications to Case Studies in Audio for VR/AR projects.
