The FM stereophonic broadcasting system adopted as the United States' standard by the Federal Communications Commission in April, 1961, appears to be destined for worldwide acceptance. This inference is based on events that took place during the interim meeting of CCIR Study Group X at Bad Kreuznach, Germany, in June of 1962. This paper is an unofficial report of that meeting and is restricted to that portion devoted to FM stereophonic broadcasting.
