Instable second-order complex IIR filters are used to generate pairs of quadrature sinusoidal oscillators. Formulas are derived for setting the frequency, phase, and amplitude of the sinuoidals. Several structures of the oscillators are investigated. First- and second-order error feedback techniques are employed to substantially reduce the roundoff noise. Simulation results agree well with the analysis.
