New Principle for Digital Audio Power Amplifiers

Document Thumbnail

A new principle for digital audio power amplifiers is described which could be called a one-bit power D/A converter. It involves the amplification of the one-bit highly oversampled and noise shaped digital signal to a level equal to that of an audio power amplifier using high frequency power electronics in a switch mode resonant converter followed by an analog low-pass filter.
