Network Music Performance (NMP) systems allow remote musicians to play music together online by sharing audio over computer networks. Integration of immersive audio systems for online ‘room’ simulation makes audio system evaluation in NMP contexts an important area in current research. This paper presents a DAW-based approach to audio system evaluation in NMP contexts. The approach is based on current practice and can be modified and repurposed through the editing of worksheets, batch scripts, and DAW sessions. A Matlab application is included, which provides control of the testing protocol across endpoints, and provides a participant user interface. The system and approach are detailed and serve as a baseline which may be modified and repurposed in further NMP audio system evaluation.
