Abstract: Meaningful automation in the recording industry requires that the mixed console be equipped to self-program all relevant control functions in real time. The original mix may then be re-created any number of times while individual controls are readjusted to alter any portion of the recording. An economical and reliable automation system has been developed which is compatible with current techniques and is expandable to satisfy future requirements.
