About

Currently I am Broadcast Operations Supervisor at WOUB Public Media at Ohio University (since 2005) - we operate two DTV stations, 5 FM stations and 1 AM station.

I have been active as an audio engineer since 1971; was the first in (and 3rd to graduate) from Ohio State's audio recording program. Have worked mostly in studio and live recordings, as well as mastering, working with artist such as Rusty Bryant, The Count Basie Orchestra, The Brass Band of Columbus, The Columbus Symphony, The OSU Jazz Ensemble, as well as many High Schools and Colleges. Have done my fair share of live sound work as well.

Currently I operate my own recording firm, Douds Engineering Services, as well as Cojazz Recordings, Ltd., a small grass-roots label for jazz/classical/boutique ensembles and archiving of Central Ohio music. I'm a member of AES, SBE, IEEE, and the ATSC 3.0 S34-2 ad hoc group on Audio.

I am also active as a Bassist, performing primarily with Jazz and Blues groups, including The Woody Herman Orchestra, The Bernie Nau Quartet, Vaughn Wiester's Famous Jazz Orchestra, The Mansfield Jazz Orchestra, The Local Girls and many, many others.
