About

Piotr Kleczkowski is a full professor with the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, Poland, and the Deputy Head of the Department of Mechanics and Vibroacoustics. He is a main founder of the field of study in Acoustical Engineering and its coordinator.
His first areas of interest were sound synthesis and implementations of first DSP processors. Later he took an interest in the analysis and processing of audio signals, with a focus on time-frequency processing, and psychoacoustics, with a focus on simultaneous perception of sounds. He wrote a monograph on sound mixing in the time-frequency domain, a textbook on psychoacoustics and co-authored a textbook on environmental protection.
He had been managing his own firm that developed and manufactured quality audio interfaces for PC computers and associated software, and served as a member of the City Council in Cracow.
He has been holding several positions in the Polish Section of the AES and has twice chaired the bi-annual Conventions of this Section.
