Meeting Topic: Fundraising and 2012 Convention
Moderator Name: Nate Lockwood
Other business or activities at the meeting:
Today we talked about fundraisers, next year's AES Convention, and new officers.
The details of our major fundraising idea were solidified. We will be transferring and restoring records and cassette tapes to digital copies. Soon, we will be posting flyers around campus in hopes that faculty will want to use our services. We have collected the necessary equipment and are currently researching what the proper prices should be.
Nate suggested that we come up with a list of professionals we would like to bring in to speak to the music technology students at our meetings. He also said to brainstorm topics we'd like to hear these professionals speak on.
The current President and Secretary of our chapter will both be away attending the Recording Workshop next semester, so Joey Pasternak will be President and Andie Cascioli will be the Secretary.
Next year's AES Convention will be in San Francisco, October 26th-29th. Rather than having the chapter booking flights and hotels for everyone and needing to keep track of payments, next year each person will book their own. It was suggested to start looking now for affordable plane tickets and hotels. Our chapter at Capital would like to provide a table at the Education Fair at the next convention. This would also be an admissions promotion for Capital University. Nate would like to speak with professional Steve Crissinger on how to get donations to help students get to the next convention.
Meeting Location: Capital University Conservatory - Room 121, Columbus Ohio
