AES Boston Agenda 3/4/24
In Attendence : OK, MW, DB, RB, JW, BL, JW

Dereck kicks off with treasurer update. Our first sponsorship payment from powersoft, has gone through. We have paid for another month of mailchimp before we transition to using squarespace for email/newletters. 105 donations to date!
Dereck and Joe Williams discuss the mission statement/language for soliciting donations, which is fairly similar to the script we've worked on for sponsorships.
Malik briefly elaborates on what the draw for companies to sponsor is looks like.

We pass the mic to Jonathan Wyner who has limited time in the meeting. He expresses gratitude and excitement for upcoming events, including an AI for musicians based event at Berklee which will need some volunteers to help run. Registration opens 3/15 - event is 6/6/24.
Jonathan discusses how the event was inspired by the fear of ML and UX designers being far removed from the needs of the creative user.

Discussion about BAS wanting to make a donation to us, possibly to benefit from exposure we can give them and tag-teaming on more events.

Malik updates about native instrument and focusrite sponsorships - focusrite is having an event at TRC coming up, but they seem unresponsive. We discuss changes to staff and beta testing at Native Instruments.

Communications updates...

Brewster updates about Analog Devices Event tba sometime in September.

Dereck brings up the idea of hosting zoom webinars for presentations or panel events. Basically BAES would be in charge of promoting the event.

Looking ahead we discuss potentially changing the name of our section to New England as opposed to Boston.
Dereck brings up that he has begun working on a budget for 2024.
Part of this budget would include funds allotted for merch.
