~$520 in the bank - check in with PAD event - Dereck asks what is RSVP limit and responsibility since this is a co-hosted event.
Dan goes to the agenda and starts with the sponsorship tier list - debating whether or not the top 'platinum tier" should be raised from 1k to 5k. The group agrees to boost the cost of each tier with inflation. We also discuss what benefits should be added/amended to potential sponsors should they agree to donate; exposure and so on.
Joe Williams recommends pulling metrics from our social media outreach to use as incentive and as part of the sponsorship pitch.
The conversation continues to iron out the sponsorship tier list.
The next step on the agenda is to make a pitch to Focusrite for a sponsorship. Malik and Dan check in about that.
Another pitch would go to Native Instruments via Malik. Native Instruments Shared office space with Sonos, Dan points out. We briefly discuss the possibilities of a joint event between us, NI, and Sonos.
We shift the agenda to now speaking about upcoming events. Dan starts with catching the rest of the group up at an event hosted at the Christian Science Center. This would entail seeing a space designed by BAES' own Lou Clark and a pipe organ.
John Mailloux signs off for now but will update on the Telefunken tour soon.
Next on the agenda - website and all necessary flyers to go along with the launch of the site. The idea being folks can see all graphics for upcoming events at once. Need to check in again with PAD to sign off on graphics.
Malik talks to the group about an upcoming collaboration with SSBC (Society of Black Creatives) including the mission of the organization. Rob Barkan brings up using the AES loop to promote the SSBC.
Next, we shift to discussing communications. Dan proposes dividing social media posting per day so each one of us would be assigned to a day of the week to post. The group discusses what approach would boost engagement on socials. Malik suggests highlighting photos and community members - doing more outreach. Derek brings up promoting the AES instagram through our own individual profiles. Dereck also suggests engaging our audience with questions like: show us your setup, or "what's been a game-changer in your workflow?", etc.
Looking towards what's next for our section, dan suggests that we think about an expo/ mini conference or a banquet.
