Summary

On Monday, October 16th, we had a meeting to work on the project of student Bartolomé Serra. This project focuses on the development of an audio compressor plugin that can switch the signal flow between feedback and feedforward.

The 'feedback/feedforward detector' refers to two different approaches to measure the input signal level and control the compressor's gain. The feedforward detector measures the input signal level before compression, while the feedback detector measures the output signal level after compression. Both approaches have their specific applications and characteristics, and the choice between them depends on the needs and preferences of the audio engineer or producer.

The current research has made significant progress in C++ programming, but work is ongoing on the algorithm to evaluate the feasibility of the alpha parameter (angular acceleration in its sidechain).

In the upcoming AES-TAMABA audio sessions scheduled for the end of November, we will present the progress and the project's status to the educational community
