Summary

On Tuesday, October 24th, the auditorium of TAMABA Tertiary Institute was brimming with enthusiasm and passion for audio during the "National Audio, Argentine Pride" MasterClass. The event, which featured the participation of Gustavo Gonzalez, the President of AES Argentina and Faculty Advisor of AES-TAMABA's Student Section, marked a milestone by bringing together students, professionals, and audio enthusiasts to get an up-close look at the work of two Argentine companies dedicated to the manufacturing of high-quality audio hardware.

The MasterClass took place in a hybrid format, allowing more than 30 attendees, including students from AES Student Sections and various academic disciplines, to actively participate. Furthermore, it was livestreamed on YouTube, which enabled a broader audience to join the conversation and pose their questions.

In the first segment, Patricio Baumann and Marcelo Depetro, representatives of Guerrilla Audio Store (G.A.S), shared the inspiring story of their company. They recounted the challenges and concerns they faced when founding it and took the audience on a comprehensive journey through their line of in-house manufactured products. They highlighted the various applications and uses of products like the Guerrilla FON, Guerrilla K67, Guerrilla 84, and Guerrilla 77 microphones. This presentation offered a unique insight into the innovation and quality that characterizes this Argentine company.

In the second segment, Sebastián De Franceschi from Kultrumm Audio Lab captivated the audience with the presentation of their flagship product, the 436c Selk'Nam Mastering Edition, a tube compressor. De Franceschi conducted a special live demonstration, subjecting the equipment to rigorous testing and showcasing its exceptional sound quality. During his talk, he delved into the topology, circuitry, and components of the device, highlighting the distinctions that set it apart from other products in the market. The audience enjoyed a thorough exploration of each parameter, allowing them to appreciate the dedication and artistry behind this Argentine product.

This event marked the beginning of an exciting initiative aimed at bridging the gap between students and audio-related companies and entrepreneurs in Argentina. The "National Audio, Argentine Pride" MasterClass provided a valuable opportunity for the local audio community to connect, learn, and share experiences.

AES-TAMABA takes pride in being a part of this celebration of Argentine talent in the audio world and looks forward to this MasterClass serving as the launching pad for future gatherings that promote learning and collaboration within the national audio community.
