Summary

On Thursday, September 21st, the Chair of AES Argentina, Gustavo González, the Vice-Chair, Christian Paladino, and the Secretary, Ezequiel Kosiner Blanco, met with entrepreneurs and representatives of small businesses manufacturing nationally sourced audio equipment to discuss the challenges posed by the current Argentine context and explore collaborative work alternatives.
For over an hour, representatives of AES Argentina, along with Tomás Quagliardi from Quagliardi Pro Audio, Patricio Baumann from PBM, Marcelo De Petro from Guerrilla Audio Store, Sebastián de Franceschi from Kultrumm Audio, and Ariel Heredia from Ariel Heredia Audio, engaged in discussions about various actions to be taken in the coming weeks.
Suggestions included academic and didactic activities such as conducting technical measurements in laboratories (alongside student sections) of the different compressors, microphones, low-signal amplifiers, and audio consoles that these companies can contribute. Other proposals included technical talks at tertiary and university-level educational institutions, coordinating product presentations with activities related to music production (live shows and/or studio recording) involving students from related programs across the country, and collaborative efforts in utilizing all communication, promotion, dissemination, and education channels related to professional audio.
Furthermore, an initial draft of the joint work agenda was developed, encompassing many of these activities, with the first event taking place at the Music Production Conference of the Astor Piazzolla Conservatory in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
