Summary

Bea begins the meeting by gathering peoples attention and introducing what AES and its core values are. Explaining how its an international organization that unites students, professionals, audio engineers and scientists from all over the world to promote advances in audio. Also mentioning the AES committee and certification process and how they set standards for most all of the gear used in the audio sphere. Bea then mentions the CRAS AES student discount and how it starts at $50 a year and increases $25 a year up to $125. Bea also mentions the benefits you get as an AES member such as career resources and information on pro audio topics.
Bea then moves into whats happening at CRAS, explaining how on July 14th former CRAS students will be coming in for a special event to talk about their experience in the audio industry. Malcolm then brings up a special event coming to CRAS in the near future with RODE microphones, He then mentions how they will be bringing in gear, and doing a special sound design session with instructor Rick Allen. Malcolm also mentions that RODE's team is headed by mostly CRAS graduates.
Bea then moves onto the introductions slide, aksing the crowd their name, current cycle, and pronouns and poses the question of "What project, past or present, would you like to work on" the crowd responds with the corresponding information and answers the question with various replies from "The Zelda games, Ari Aster Films, to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"
Moving the meeting along, Bea mentions the CRAS AES sample flip challenge and explains how Sol makes a sample, or samples, for everyone to manipulate every cycle, as well as how everyone is encouraged to participate and to be as creative as they want with the samples, to make sound design, music, and any other audio related thing. They then mention that the board will collect submissions and play them out in the live sound room on Week 3 of the cycle.
Bea moves the meeting onto explaining the CRAS mentor program, and how they offer Mentor walk-ins on Week 2 sunday of every cycle, Cycle specific study groups, and even 1 on 1 help to any student interested. Also mentioning how people can email Brandon Valfre, or the student help email to get assigned 1 on 1 with a mentor.
Moving the meeting over to the next slide, The board members introduce the CRAS AES subgroups. Starting with the Jammin subgroup with Mikey Fierro, Bea tells that Mikey books out a studio every week to record a jam session! And that the next meeting is going to be a listening session over the past few months worth of recording. CJ then introduces Sound Design with Starr. Starr started the sound design subgroup to teach people how to create their own samples to remove their reliance on Splice, as well how to sound design your own drums. Sol then explains his EDM Production subgroup that he puts on every week, saying that he goes over production techniques, mixing techniques and well as how to DJ EDM.
Bea then moves over to the final slide which is the production tip of the week, due to the lack of sound Sol just explains how to use a bitcrusher to create textures, and ear candy by reducing sample rate.
