Meeting Topic: Embarking on Our Journey to Measure the Absorption Coefficient of Acoustic Materials
Moderator Name: Federico Gironelli, Gustavo Gonzalez
Speaker Name: Bryan Aras - Indio Gauvron
Meeting Location: Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires
On Monday, September 11th, an enthusiastic group gathered to take the initial steps toward developing a method for measuring the absorption coefficient of acoustic materials. During this meeting, members of the Student Section, along with our new additions, Faculty Advisor Gustavo González, and Professor Indio Gauvron, began outlining the necessary actions and initiated measurements and data processing that will lead us to obtain precise values for the absorption coefficient across a wide range of materials.
Initially, Professor Indio Gauvron shared the genesis of the idea behind this project and extended a warm invitation to all students to join this exciting initiative. From there, questions and concerns were promptly addressed. Subsequently, we embarked on creating a detailed roadmap and action plan that will guide our work in the upcoming weeks.
In summary, we agreed to focus on several key aspects in the coming week: deepening our theoretical understanding of the topic, securing the space for conducting measurements, and exploring which impulses or samples will be most suitable for our experiments. This initial step brings us closer to our goal of developing a robust and reliable method for measuring the absorption coefficient of acoustic materials. We are excited about the prospect of tackling this challenge and look forward to sharing our progress as we advance in this exciting endeavor.
