Summary

In today's AES Tamaba Acoustics section meeting, an array of topics related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) research in audio and acoustics were discussed. Below, we delve into the key points addressed during the session:

I. Artificial Intelligence:

Research Group Proposal: A proposition to establish an AI research group for audio applications was presented. Attendees shared preliminary ideas, but it was agreed that further information would be needed before formalizing the group.
Project Ideas and Guest Proposals: The need to identify potential audio research projects suitable for AI techniques was discussed. Additionally, the idea of inviting experts from diverse domains to share their insights in upcoming group meetings was proposed.
AI-Assisted Reporting: The utilization of AI tools for generating this report was noted. It was agreed that while AI aids in generating content, a critical human perspective remains irreplaceable.
II. AES Members Brief Mention:
Acknowledgment was given to AES Tamaba Acoustics section members present at the meeting, recognizing their dedication and experience in the field of acoustics.

III. Joint Purchase Proposal: "La aventura del sonido y la música" by Oscar Bonello:
The possibility of a collective purchase of "La aventura del sonido y la música" by Oscar Bonello, a relevant reading material for enhancing knowledge in the realm of musical acoustics, was raised. Coordinating the purchase and distribution among interested members was suggested.

IV. Acoustics:

Graphics Request for Project's First Section: Graphics essential for advancing the initial section of the acoustics project were requested. These graphics play a pivotal role in analyzing the acoustic behavior of the space and defining subsequent project steps.
Initiation of Final Project Report Assembly: The necessity of assembling the final acoustics project report was emphasized. This report should encompass pertinent plans and graphics to rigorously depict the measurements and results obtained.
Modeling Proposal, Materials, Dimensions, and Sound Sources: A proposal for space modeling, material selection, dimensions, and sound sources was presented for the measurement phase. The significance of considering environmental factors, such as heavy rain during data collection, was highlighted.
Sergio Zanabria's Collaboration in Layout and Design: Colleague Sergio Zanabria volunteered to handle the layout and design of the final report. This contribution will enhance the visual clarity and attractiveness of result presentations.
Measurement Revalidation: It was agreed upon to revalidate the measurements to ensure data accuracy and precision.
Digital RT60 Emulation Proposal: A proposal to digitally emulate the RT60 (reverberation time) was introduced to validate data and gain a detailed understanding of the acoustic behavior of the space.
Measurement Coordination with Carlos Gauvron: The decision was made to organize measurements with acoustic expert Carlos Gauvron to ensure a thorough sampling procedure and precise result analysis.
Conclusion:
The meeting was marked by innovative proposals and ideas. Attendees' enthusiasm and dedication to advancing projects and enhancing the quality of reports and outcomes were evident. Tasks will proceed as planned, and another meeting will be scheduled to assess progress and discuss further actions.
