On Friday 7th and Saturday 8th we had the honor to participate with two current work in progress student lectures in the 5th edition of the Jornadas Rioplantenses de Audio, a great effort of both AES Argentina & Uruguay professional sections. Nicolás Fernández and Sebastián Lamela, members of our board as well as recently graduated acoustic students in our school, were the speakers.
On Friday Nicolás Fernández presented the current status of the DIGRA (Difusor por Gradiente de Absorción) project. The diffuser panel combining both reflection and absorption has his first full prototype, and is going to be measured soon. The principles and ideas in which the diffusive capabilities of the panel were presented, as well as review of previous meeting concerning the matter (Audio Expertos 2021, Conteo AES LAC 2022).
On Saturday, Sebastián Lamela introduced to the audience the current status of his Critical Listening Room (CLR), already presented in the Conteo AES LAC 2022. Adapting both personal needs and the classic and current status of the industry of construction materials in our country, he is building the CLR under the IEC 60268-13 and the ITU-R BS.1116 specifications. This room will be, probably, the first CLR in Argentina.
