On the day of the date, the section held a meeting in order to learn about the use of Git and Github. GitHub is a forge for hosting projects using the Git version control system.
The objective of this meeting was to acquire useful tools and knowledge in software development and project management that favor student teams working together.
Github commands were studied, such as git commit, git push, git pull, etc. Git Desktop functionalities have been reviewed. And the concepts of local and remote repository were analyzed. We saw how to create private, public and collaborative repositories.
In addition, a simplified Git Flow model was discussed that can be used by small teams in various types of projects, allowing collaboration, version control, history review, and order in production processes.
A test project was used to create a live repository, branch or branch system like the one shown in the diagram, and various tests were done to put the above into practice.
The design and development project for a compressor plugin was discussed and how these tools could benefit the process.
Concepts such as Sprint, Scrum were mentioned and information on project management, methodology and planning was shared.
And finally, we talked about the features and new technologies that Visual Studio Code offers, such as the integration of artificial intelligence, the selection of plugins and the user interface.
