The Royer tour was really neat and informative. It is a very small business, and we were very well received. Rick Perrota gave us a lecture on the history and mechanics of microphones, a full tour of the factory. We also met Dave Royer, the founder of the company, and designer of their microphone. He is also autistic, which works in his favor in this type of work, in that he can focus really well on all the technical aspects of the designwork. They gave us t-shirts, a promotional cd with different ribbon microphone demonstrations and comparisons, and a sneak peak at one of their upcoming products, an more affordable ribbon microphone.
