Summary

Jeff Steeg, Lead Audio Engineer at the Center for Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana led a tour of the Palladium production facilities. The venue can hold 1600 patrons and is only two years old. The meeting began at Shapiro's Deli, where members discussed upcoming AES events and were introduced to Jeff Steeg. Following the meal, everyone went to the Palladium and were joined by a few additional members. Mr. Steeg gave a history of his background in audio engineering, the creation of The Palladium, and the sound system installation. He discussed the types of production work that happens in the venue, including classical music concerts and popular music artist concerts. He then demonstrated the capabilities of the amplification system. Later, he guided members through the recording booth, the underground production areas (orchestra pit), and the live sound mixing station. As the Palladium is very new, members were excited to see these facilities for the first time.
